Happy Hearts

I haven't always been the biggest fan of Valentine's Day; a very painful break up on the "most romantic" day of the year left me smarting and nauseated by the sight of candy hearts for quite awhile.  However, as time has passed and my wounds have healed, I've started to remember that there are an awful lot of good things about the holidays - any excuse for excessive amounts of pink and chocolate is a good excuse!

In the spirit of the season, here are a few ideas for Valentine's Day gifts - for loved ones or for you to splurge on yourself!

Fun plates for if your plans involve eating in.

For the music love or for listening to romantic jams, these Marc Jacobs earbuds.

Perfume for Valentine's Day isn't cliche if it smells as good as Chloe.

Prints subtle enough you could have them on your wall all year 'round.

Classic J.Crew flats in the color of the season.

Cards to give from PaperSource and Sugar Paper.

For flirty eyelashes you can bat all day long, Urban Decay has you covered.

The cuddliest sweatshirt for cuddling.

This Royal Apothic candle will make your whole house smell like a dozen roses.

Maybe you won't wear pink, but you can still get in the spirit with this Bauble Bar necklace.

Deborah Lippman does it again.

Lacy lingerie done right with this American Eagle bra.

A trinket dish to remind you that Coco Chanel is the wisest of all.

Put them in your heart, wear them as a broach, ban.do has you covered, and with sequins, no less.

Sweet Tory Burch studs.

Small Things

A few small things putting a smile on my face currently:

Voluspa candles - it's uncharacteristically hot right now, but I'm still perpetually burning candles.  This is one of my all time favorite scents; it's sweet on its own and mixes well with other scents if you have multiple candles.

This Sugar Paper print - I'm madly in love, even if it does remind me of my occasional homesickness for Southern California.

My current reads on my night stand: J.K. Rowling's The Casual Vacancy and Emily Schuman's new book, based on her blogCupcakes and Cashmere

How awesome is this TokyoMilk cosmetic bag? I've been needing to get a new cosmetic bag for awhile, and I'm planning on getting this one the next time I got out shopping.

My not-so-secret fast food addiction.

Cute earrings from the Bauble Bar.

Folders I purchased to try to get my desk semi-organized.
